Jimmy Sykes

Tributes To the Memory of Jimmy Sykes

It is with great sadness that Robert Norman Secretary of the British Border Fancy Canary Club and Albi Brown Secretary of Merseyside Border & Fife F. C.C. reports the death of Jimmy Sykes who was Chairman of The B.B.F.C.C. from 1999 to present day.
Jimmy joined the B.B.F.C.C. in the 1985 and soon became a Committee member which was hard to do in those days as there was all ways more candidates waiting to be elected on the Committee than was allowed.
Jimmy was elected Chairman at the 1999 A.G.M and held that position to present day.
Jimmy never wanted to go on the Judges Panel but new a good Border Canary when he seen one. He also enjoyed keeping a few Fife Fancy Canaries.
Jimmy supported all the local shows over many years and was also Secretary of Merseyside B.F.C.C. until he had to give it up a couple of years ago due to his poor health but carried on as there as Chairman until present day.
Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Margaret and Family.
