I'm truly sorry to inform you of the passing of Mr. John Balme, a remarkable individual who made invaluable contributions to the world of Border Canaries and the Doncaster Border Fancy Canary Club. His dedication and commitment to the club are truly commendable, and he leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished for years to come.

John Balme's significant involvement as a founder member of the Doncaster Border Fancy Canary Club and his numerous roles within the committee exemplify his passion for the breed. His selfless dedication, where he generously devoted countless hours of his own time, played a pivotal role in the club's development. His efforts were not only recognised locally but resonated across the world of Border Canaries, making him a respected and recognised figure on the Border stage.

John's reputation as a true gentleman is a testament to his character. He was not only a stalwart member but also a role model, earning the admiration and respect of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness and generosity have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those in the Border Fancy community.

In this difficult time, our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his beloved wife Hilda and his family. John's passing is a loss not only to his family but to the entire Border Fancy community. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and the passion he ignited in others.

Very sad news ,I've known John and Hilda for many years and always had a warm welcome from them both at Doncaster Border FCC , members like John are few and far between always dedicated to the club and to his family . He will be sadly missed by all.
